Can we see some of those definitions? I started doing something
like that for cmavo. I posted my attempts to the list some time last
year or in '96, but in the meantime I went through a computer move
and I can't seem to find where I left those files. Anyway, my definitions
went something like this:

i zo ca zo'u cmavo zo pu le du'u le ralfau cu cabna lo fasnu
i mu'a lu mi ca klama le zarci li'u
lu mi klama le zarci ca le nu do stali le zdani li'u

i zo roi zo'u cmavo zo roi le du'u le ralfau cu rapli li xokau
i mu'a lu mi so'iroi penmi le do pendo li'u
lu mi penmi le do pendo reroi le ca jeftu
i ca le pavdei e ca le cibdei li'u

i zo ui zo'u cmavo zo ui le du'u le cusku cu gleki
                  i mu'a lu ui do xruti li'u
lu mi viska le mi selpa'i ku ui e le ri mamta li'u

Of course the definitions need to be expanded, but it's a start.
I think that it's important to have as many examples as possible,
so as to show how to use the words. The same would apply to
gismu, where we should give examples with all places filled.
