Umm, I don't think knowledge is independent of minds. It's just that for
someone to utter the word 'know', *he* has to consider its object to be
true. Otherwise it is his belief, or conviction, but I wouldn't call it
knowledge. I can say "What I knew then was false and totally bogus. Now
I know better.", but the sentence "What I know is false" sounds like a
zen koan or a senseless mutter of a lunatic, or maybe a discordian's
paradox; I can't accept that as a valid, meaningful sentence.
